If your browser starts misbehaving, the problem may be connected to your cache. Here’s the backstory on caches and how to clear yours on the most popular browsers.

When you’re browsing the internet, your browser stores bits and pieces of websites you’ve visited in order to make loading them up again faster the next time. This is called the cache. Sometimes, however, this cache can get corrupted or filled up with outdated information, which can cause problems with website loading and potentially crashing.

If you’re having trouble loading websites or seeing updated content, it’s possible that your browser’s cache is corrupted or full. To fix this, you’ll need to clear your cache. Clearing your cache will remove any saved website data from your browser, including cookies, images, and saved form data. It’s a good idea to clear your cache periodically to free up space on your hard drive and help keep your browser running smoothly.

Here’s how to clear your cache in Chrome:

1. Open Chrome and click the menu icon (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner of the window.

2. Hover your mouse over “More tools” and click “Clear browsing data.”
